There is a lot of cultivation in the municipality of Zundert, but one of the most special nurseries is Lowgardens Nurseries – The Natural Outdoor Plantstore. At Lowgardens Nurseries a great diversity of rare and special plant species is grown. Lowgardens Nurseries has an extensive, special and completely home-grown assortment of trees, shrubs, climbing plants, conifers and perennials. These are often less known and rare species with ornamental value and many of them also have a utility value. For example, they are edible, medicinal or insect or bird attractors.
Of the many varieties, only a few specimens are always displayed in the sales area of the nursery. Everything is grown naturally at Lowgardens Nurseries, so no pesticides are used and there is cooperation with nature. All plants are provided with information signs and labels with icons that indicate the useful value of the plant. Do you want to know more about a particular plant? The attractive nursery is very spacious, so there is enough space to look around quietly and keep a sufficient distance. From the sales section you can also look into the nursery itself and see how everything is grown. There is also an Ethnobotanical garden, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility. Normally a cup of herbal coffee or tea is lovingly poured for you, but due to the current circumstances, that is not possible at the moment. As soon as the weather is allowed, you are welcome to enjoy these delicious drinks on a seat in the garden.
Lowgardens Nurseries is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will find Lowgardens Nurseries in a rural and very quiet area at the Maalbergenstraat 26 in Wernhout, almost at the Belgian border. A visit to Lowgardens Nurseries is not only useful, but also very relaxing!
